Situated on 120 beautiful acres in Silver Spring, Maryland, Riderwood is the largest continuing care retirement community in the United States. We’re part of a growing network of communities developed and managed by Erickson Senior Living, a national provider of senior living and health care with campuses in 11 states—and growing. 

We are currently seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Facility Operations. This person will be responsible for planning, providing, and maintaining a high-quality living and working environment for residents and staff. This includes ensuring the interior and exterior of the buildings, roads, grounds, tools, and equipment are safe, sanitary, and healthy. Additionally, the Assistant Director will provide residents with transportation, security, communication, and facility services.

We are looking for an Assistant Director of Facility Operations who has aspirations of obtaining a Director of Facility Operations role within the Erickson Senior Living enterprise. As opportunities arise with the opening of new communities, the Assistant Director may need to relocate after a couple of years

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience starting at $102,000 annually.

How you will impact our mission and growth:

  • Ensure the community and department goals in the areas of finance, satisfaction, and engagement are met by using the system, process, and control measures.
  • Management of the departments included in the scope of the job are Transportation, Security, Project management, Maintenance & Engineering, Communications, Housekeeping, and Grounds.
  • Respond to emergencies at the community as required.
  • Fill in for the Director of Facility Operations in their absence.
  • Implement system and controls to achieve financial performance as established by the departmental budget. Assist in the budget process for both operating and capital plans.
  • Ensure that requests for the purchase of assets and services are made and in accordance with Erickson Senior Living Communities Purchasing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure all the required training by managers is completed and documented.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • 5 years or more of business experience in General Services / Facilities Operations required.
  • Ability to initiate and implement necessary plans to assure proper maintenance of facilities
  • Experience with CMMS is preferred.
  • Licensing/certification to be obtained if required by State.
  • A valid driver’s license is required if operating Community vehicles and must adhere to policies and procedures of Erickson Senior Living Management.  
  • Minimum 10 Hour OSHA training required within 1 year of hire.
