The DEIB Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and coordination of initiatives aimed at fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and supportive organizational environment.  This role involves collaborating with various departments, collecting and analyzing data, assisting with training and development activities, serving as a resource for team members, and contributing to communication efforts.  The DEIB Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing organizational goals related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by promoting awareness, facilitating dialogue, and implementing strategies to create a culture where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.

This is a hybrid position. Three days are required on-site in Catonsville, MD.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience starting at $70000.00/year

How you will make an impact:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of DEIB strategies, policies, and programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Support the coordination and execution of DEIB-related events, workshops, and initiatives, ensuring they are accessible and inclusive
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to integrate DEIB considerations into recruitment, retention, promotion, and other processes
  • Assist in the design, delivery, and evaluation of training sessions and workshops on DEIB topics, including unconscious bias, and inclusive leadership
  • Serve as a point of contact for team members seeking information, guidance, or support related to DEIB issues, providing resources and assistance as needed
  • Assist in the development of DEIB-related communications, materials, and resources for internal and external audiences, promoting awareness and understanding of DEIB initiatives
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and legislation related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, sharing relevant insights and recommendations with the team

What you will need:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion, human resources, or related field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to DEIB
  • Experience with project management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of intersectionality in DEBI efforts
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Certification or coursework in DEIB-related fields a plus
