Generally implements the mission of the Pastoral Ministries department; specifically, meets the pastoral and worship needs of our Protestant residents. Plans and develops in cooperation with the Pastoral Ministries Manager the spiritual life of the Protestant Faith Community and community wide outreach and fellowship.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience starting at $27,500 per year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as primary spiritual care provider to the Protestant residents by providing those services required by the Protestant Faith Community; including but not limited to worship, teaching, counseling, etc.
  • Meet residents in their life crisis points.
  • Develop and coordinate Protestant ministry programs as relates to residents.
  • Establish and coordinate continuance of a leadership council for the Protestant community.  The purpose of this council is to provide resident leadership and a representation for the Protestant residents.  This council will be selected in a democratic manner to represent the whole community.
  • Endeavor to make the Protestant Faith Community self-supporting financially and provide leadership in this community that is financially responsible and conservative.  This includes cooperating and leading in the communities giving a portion of its collections to outreach in the larger community or missions.
  • Assist the Pastoral Ministries Manager to determine the short and long term direction of the ministry program, especially concerning quality of life.
  • Work with the Pastoral Ministries Manager and Renaissance Gardens Chaplain to address the spiritual needs of Protestant residents across the continuum of care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred); ordination, licensure, or certification. Five years pastoral ministry experience (preferred).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A. Collaborates with other Pastoral Associates

Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language.
