What We Offer

Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant

  • Compensation: ranges from $30.00 - $41.00 per hour, commensurate of experience

  • Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents improve mobility, regain function, reduce pain, and achieve their highest level of independence. The PTA collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to provide exceptional rehabilitative services within our continuing care retirement community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist

  • Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility interventions

  • Monitor resident progress and communicate outcomes to the Physical Therapist
  • Document treatments and resident responses accurately and timely
  • Educate residents and families on exercises, safety techniques, and wellness strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports resident goals and independence

Qualifications

  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for working with older adults and helping them achieve their rehabilitation goals
